Stay Home on December 27th!
Category: Upcoming Events
Dear WordServe Family,
On December 27, the Sunday after Christmas, WordServe will not have a morning worship service. WordServe will have a wonderful Christmas Eve worship service on December 24 at 5:00 p.m. at Huggins Elementary School. It takes so many dedicated people serving in lots of ways to make each Sunday morning a success, and as a way to say thank you to the unceasing servants who work week after week to make sure that we have a wonderful, inviting, and spiritually challenging environment for children and adults, we are giving them a Sunday to rest. Don’t worry, we’ll be back ready to go on January 3, and we’ll kick off an exciting new sermon series and quarter of Community Groups on January 10.
If you’d like to attend a worship service on December 27, there are lots of great churches in our area. First United Methodist and River Bend Baptist are both in Fulshear, and both will be having services on December 27. Either one would be a great place for you to worship. If you want to venture a little further, our sister church, The River, meets at Travis High School in Richmond, and our mother church, Grace Fellowship, is on Mason Road in Katy. Both of those churches are dynamic and worth the drive for a great worship service.
Another option for December 27 is to have a worship service at home. Encountering and worshiping God does not require a building, a band, or bagels! You can encounter God around your kitchen table or in your living room. Download the family devotion that our WordServe Kids team has put together and use it as a guide to have a time of worship at home. Don’t feel like you have to be bound by it. Pick and choose the parts you like or add your own Bible verses, activities, or songs to it. No matter your age, it will provide some material for you to begin a time of personal or family worship without even getting out of your pajamas!
The last option for you on December 27 is to rest. You may be one of the many who’ve helped make WordServe worship so incredible in 2009 or you may just need a break after the busy holidays. Sleep in, enjoy a cup of coffee, and know that God loves you and delights in you!
I pray you have a tremendous encounter with God during this Advent season, as you celebrate the birth of Jesus, and on December 27.
His,
Nolan Donald
