Back to School BASH!

JUMP START the school year with WordServe Church's Annual Back to School Bash!


Jump Start the School Year - Kid - child dressed as superhero...At WordServe, we celebrate the fact that people matter...to God and to us! That's why we want to help everyone get a great jump start this fall--whether you're going back to school or not. Bring the whole family and join us at 9:45 AM on August 22nd for a great morning of worship with special guest Tim Mavergeorge, Licensed Counselor and Family Therapist for 24 years, who will challenge us with an inspiring message that should help us all start this fall on the right foot.

Remember: it's not just about going back to school...we're also going to change the world! For every person in the building on August 22nd, WordServe will give $5 to Living Water International to help provide clean, safe water for the 884 million people around the world who do not have access to it.

Our Back to School Bash will also feature:

  • high energy, family-friendly worship starting at 9:45 AM
  • a special Back to School message just for kids, with a visit after worship from Mr. Smarty Pants!
  • The Blessing of the Backpacks (kids K-5th grade, bring your backpacks!)
  • awesome activities, games, and FREE food after the service

You'll also be the first to learn more about what's coming up this fall at WordServe Church: New Community Groups beginning in September, new sermon series starting August 29th, new opportunities to serve the community, and new back to school activities for youth! Don't miss it!

Youth: Back 2 School Bash!

Hey WordServe Youth--let's make going back to school a little more fun! Our Back 2 School Bash will be an extension of our back to school worship event earlier that morning...and we're going to make a difference with a little friendly compeition among all the different schools represented by our Youth at WordServe.

The goal is to gain as much food for Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) as possible! The way the competition will work is we will have a weigh in for each campus. All the food you bring you must have on you at the time of the weigh in and through dinner.  For each guest you bring, you will receive an additional 10 lbs, plus their weigh in total. After dinner, we'll break up into school groups and hit the streets in search for more donations before the final weigh in. For whichever group is the BIGGEST on campus, WordServe Youth will make an additional $100 donation in your honor.  This will be a fun night that will go a long way in caring for others.

So whose school will RULE? And who will get schooled? Bring your friends (and a bunch of nonperishable food items) to WordServe Youth at the home of Dave and Colleen Penner on Sunday, August 22nd from 5 to 7 PM! (Don't forget, dinner is included, too!!)
