Ready to Take a RISK! An international mission trip can be a life-changing, faith-increasing and perspective changing experience. This summer, we will return to Bogota, Colombia, on June 9-16th. We will serve in Guatemala with Living Water International on July 28-August 4. Begin praying for your involvement with these summer trips!

WordServe Youth may be a small group right now, but they are making a huge impact! Together, Kevin Walker, Emily Motley, Ashleigh Reid, Charlie Beck, and Amber Dent collected 101 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes for the mission organization Samaritan’s Purse.

In this picture is Kyaw Kyaw. He and his family are from Burma and are now living in Houston. Everyday Kyaw-Kyaw rides his bike two miles each way with his son on the back, so that his son can go to pre-school and start his education. Through Lifecycles and WordServe Church, he received this bike during WordServe's June Church has left the Building compassion event.

PandaMania VBS - Summer 2011

This summer, WordServe Church and First United Methodist Church, Fulshear partnered together to present PandaMania VBS. Each evening children were able to learn about how God is wild about them and celebrate God and His love through songs, Bible lessons and activities. Watch this video to see what VBS was all about!

Back to School Bash 2011

Last Sunday, August 21 WordServe Church had a blast at the Back to School Bash! . During the celebration service all of the children, fifth grade to preschool came in for "the Blessing of the Backpacks", a special prayer time for the new school year. Parents were given a prayer card that listed helpful ways to continue to pray for their children throughout the school year.

Making the Grade: Raising Awareness of God in our Lives

For four months, WordServe Church has been working to raise our awareness of God’s presence in our lives—in big ways, small ways, and everything in between. We have heard INCREDIBLE stories of how people have seen God show up, and we keep seeing people grow and change and become more and more aware of God in their lives. A Beautiful Day

The sun shone and the breeze blew on Easter morning, creating a picture-perfect day for WordServe’s first ever Community Easter Celebration. Over two hundred people gathered by the lake at Cross Creek Ranch on April 24th to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. Read more and check out some photos from this beautiful day!

Serving Burmese Refugees in Houston

On Saturday April 2, 2011, a group of people from WordServe met at Wal-Mart to purchase bicycles for refugee children and young adults in the Houston area. Bicycles are an important part of life for refugees in this country as bikes are their means for getting to school, the grocery store, church, work, etc. Bicycles also allow them to keep in touch with each other and friends in the community. But something as simple as a bicycle can be very hard to come by as a refugee just coming to this country, and for many, it is a luxury they simply cannot afford.

Looking for God

People often wonder, “Where is God in my life?” Daily struggles, big and small, sometimes lead us to think that God is absent, and it’s also difficult to imagine that God concerns himself with our mundane day to day activities. But God is NEVER absent. He is always with us. We just have to know how to look for him.

Mission Trip: Colombia

In June, WordServe sent a team of 13 people to Bogota, Colombia to serve the people of Ciudad Bolivar. While there, we served meals, taught sewing classes, painted a center for street children, and taught Vacation Bible School. God moved in powerful ways among the people of Colombia.
