Sundays -Praying for Your Child’s Salvation
Prayer Principles:
*When you pray for your children, you join God in the work he is doing in their lives
Prayers You Can Use:
*Thank you for loving _____ so much that you gave your one and only Son, that when _____ believes in him he/she will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
Mondays-Praying for Your Child’s Gifts
Prayer Principles:
*Praying for your children to recognize their giftedness can help them gain a sense of destiny as they consider the ways God might use them.
Prayers You Can Use:
*Give _____a sense of destiny, and show her/him that you set her/him apart and appointed her with gifts and talents even before she was born. (Jeremiah 1:5)
Tuesdays-Praying for Self-Control, Diligence, and Self-Discipline
Prayer Principles:
*When you pray for your children to learn things like diligence and self-control, you are asking God to give them attributes that are absolutely essential to their future happiness and success.
Prayers You Can Use:
*Set a guard over ______‘s mouth, O Lord; keep watch over his/her lips. Don’t let his/her heart be drawn to what is evil or allow him/her to take part in wicked deeds. (Psalm 141:3-4)
Wednesdays-Praying for Physical Health and Safety
Prayer Principles:
*When you pray for your children’s health and safety, it helps to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus—not on the circumstances.
Prayers You Can Use:
*Let _____ dwell in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Be his/her refuge, fortress, covering, and shield. Do not let him/her fear the terror of the night, nor any type of sickness. Do not let any harm or disaster come near _____. Command your angels to guard him/her in all his/her ways and keep him/her from hurting himself/herself. When he/she calls on you, answer him/her. Be with him/her in trouble; deliver him/her and honor him/her. Satisfy _____ with long life and show him/her your salvation. (Psalm 91)
Thursdays-Praying for Spiritual Protection
Prayer Principles:
*You can pray for your children’s spiritual protection with joy, faith, and assurance, knowing that Christ Jesus is greater than any of the dark forces that inhabit their world.
Prayers You Can Use:
*Clothe _____with your full armor so that he/she can take his stand against the devil’s schemes. Help him to stand firm, with the belt of truth buckled around his/her waist and the breastplate of righteousness in place. Fit his/her feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Give _____the shield of faith, with which he can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Place the helmet of salvation on his head and the sword of the Spirit, which is your word, in his/her hands. Finally, teach him/her to pray, and to be alert. (Ephesians 6:11-18)
Fridays-Praying for Your Child’s Emotional Well-Being
Prayer Principles:
*Asking God to fill your children with the knowledge that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” that they belong to God, and that they are precious in his sight can lay the groundwork for a lifetime of emotional security and health.
Prayers You Can Use:
*When _____is confronted with grief, uncertainty, fear, or pressure, remind him/her of your promise: Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
Saturdays-Praying for Your Child’s Purpose in Life
Prayer Principles:
*You can pray for your children’s future with hope and confidence; knowing that God loves them and has a special plan for each of their lives.
Prayers You Can Use:
*You know the plans you have for _____, plans to prosper him/her and not to harm him/her, plans to give him/her a hope and a future. Cause _____to call upon you and come and pray to you, and then listen to him/her. O Lord. Let him/her seek you with all his/her heart, and find you when he/she does seek you. (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
