Mission Trip: Colombia
From June 12-19, 2010, a team of people from WordServe will travel with GO InterNational to the slums of Bogotá, Colombia to serve some of the poorest of the poor. While in Bogota, your team will work with Pastor Guillermo Parra, a man who grew up in the slums and now serves meals to more than 2,000 children every day (you can watch a short video about Guillermo and his ministry here). You'll have the opportunity to share God's love with children and adults, and you'll partner with local believers to help make a true difference for God's Kingdom in Bogotá.
As with many of the world's cities, the gap between the very rich and the very poor in Bogotá is wide. Nearly half of the population lives below the poverty line (less than $1 US per day). In the neighborhoods and slums of South Bogotá, mothers struggle to feed their families. Fathers often turn to alcohol and drugs. People like Pastor Guillermo are making a lasting difference in these people's lives--and you have a chance to be a part of it. You have a chance to bring them hope.
Total cost for the trip is $800.00, with a $250.00 deposit and registration form required to reserve your spot on the trip. The $800.00 will cover round-trip airfare from Houston to Bogotá, meals, lodging, and in-country travel. A valid passport is also required.
