Even before WordServe began meeting for worship on Sunday mornings, we were reaching out beyond our community through foreign missions. WordServe’s first overseas mission trip was in June of 2008; a team of 9 people traveled to Santa Rosa, Peru – a small island in the Amazon river – to show God’s love in tangible ways. Through Vacation Bible School, a dental clinic, sewing classes, a building project, and a medical clinic, we were able to serve the people of Santa Rosa in amazing ways.
In 2009, a team of 13 people from WordServe traveled to Bogota, Colombia to serve some of the most overlooked and forgotten people in the world: the children and adults of Bogota’s shanty towns. We returned to Bogota in 2010 and 2011 to continue to build on the relationships we made the years before. You can see slideshows from the trips on our Vimeo channel by clicking here. Another team traveled to Honduras in 2010 to drill a water well for a village that had never known the taste of clean water. You can see a slideshow from that trip by clicking here.

When we reach out beyond our comfort zones, God shows up in BIG ways.
