Even before WordServe began meeting for worship on Sunday mornings, we were reaching out beyond our community through foreign missions. WordServe’s first overseas mission trip was in June of 2008; a team of 9 people traveled to Santa Rosa, Peru – a small island in the Amazon river – to show God’s love in tangible ways. Through Vacation Bible School, a dental clinic, sewing classes, a building project, and a medical clinic, we were able to serve the people of Santa Rosa in amazing ways.
In 2009, a team of 13 people from WordServe traveled to Bogota, Colombia to serve some of the most overlooked and forgotten people in the world: the children and adults of Bogota’s shanty towns. You can see a slideshow from the trip on our Vimeo channel by clicking here.
Are you interested in extending your reach beyond Fulshear? Beyond Texas? Beyond the United States? To the ends of the earth? So are we! When we reach out beyond our comfort zones, God shows up in BIG ways.
