Barbara grew up in Lovington, NM and completed her education at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a math minor, she continued to teach 4th grade. She taught 4th grade for five years, three in Splendora, TX and two here in Katy at Mayde Creek Elementary, before deciding to stay home with her kids. While staying home and caring for children in her home, she found Holy Covenant UMC. There she soon began teaching Sunday school, then helping direct VBS and was blessed to be hired as a Children’s Director. Barbara happily served at Holy Covenant until August 2016(15 years). God led her in 2016 to come to WordServe Church. For the past 11 years, she has spent some time at Tri-District summer camp in Lakeview (Palestine, TX) serving as an Elementary Director. Barbara feels blessed to currently serve as the WSKids Director at WordServe Church since 2016. She also enjoys helping with the Youth program.
Barbara has been happily married to Kevin since 1994. They have 3 grown children: Lauren; Holly; and Ethan. They have a couple of four-legged fur babies too. Kevin is employed at Nabors Drilling which sometimes requires much travel. Kevin and Barbara enjoy spending time with family target shooting and going to concerts.
