Go for the Gold

Preacher: Bill Hogan Series: Great Expectations Topic: Biblical Scripture: Exodus 32:1–8

This series explores the expectations between God, Jesus, and Humans throughout history. Week 1 examines the ancient Israelites' expectations of God, specifically how quick we are to turn away from God and how impatient humans can be in the sweep of God's great plan to reconcile the world. We frequently say we would follow God if only God were nearer and clearer. And yet, when God was closest and most clear (The Exodus and the 10 commandments), the people chose to rebel. Why is that, and what can we do to change the course of our generation? [People expect a religion that substitutes their individual wants and desires for God's ultimate plan]
