Is there a difference between a tithe and an offering?
The word “tithe” means one tenth. So, when you tithe, you bring one tenth or 10% of your earnings to what Malachi 3:10 calls the "storehouse." The meaning of storehouse is the church. Tithing is the starting point of giving, because it is what He instructs each of us to give. An "offering" is a gift given above the 10% you return to the Lord as your tithe.
