Giving isn’t just about money.
When we answer His call and begin our journey as Christ followers, He gives each of us a unique role to fulfill in the body of Christ. For instance, our Pastor is tasked to preach and teach His Word. Others support the Worship Arts, lead and mentor our youth, host a community group or support outreach efforts in the community. Some care for the needs of our members or those who are infirmed. As Christ followers we’re all expected to support His work around the world. It’s important to use the gifts God has given you to fulfill the great commission. Matthew 28:19-20
The parable of the talents, found in Matthew 25:14–30, teaches that people are accountable and responsible to God for the way they use the resources they are given. Christ followers are expected to “steward” or “manage” their talents for the One who has given them. God wants us to reinvest into His kingdom the talents and gifts He has given us.
